Sani is a beautiful location just before Nea Fokea, which was, in antiquity, a colony of the Eretrians. It is located 83 km from Thessaloniki. The citadel of ancient Sani was located in the area in antiquity, a city that flourished in the area until the period of the Roman Empire. During the following centuries, estates of the monasteries of Agio Oros were created in Sani. In the 14th century there were many metochia of Agio Oros in the area, of which many churches survive to this day and the Stavronikita Tower (1543) on the hill of the Sani Hotel. Beautiful beaches with fully equipped hotel complexes such as Sani Hotel and Simantro Beach as well as camping Blue Dream make the area a unique destination for many Greeks and foreign visitors. The Sani Festival is one of the top cultural events in Greece and is organized on the top of the hill, around the Tower, every July and August.
Sani's Festival is one of the most popular art festivals in Greece, it has been held every year since 1982 and artists from all over the world participate. "Sani Gourmet" is organized every May and is the largest gastronomy event in Greece. The search for a safe harbor destination for all seasons stops at Sani Marina, the luxurious private port of Sani Resort. The quickest access to the Aegean, for the Balkans and Southern Europe, is located on the Peninsula of Kassandra in Halkidiki and is just 45 minutes from the Thessaloniki's Airport "Makedonia" (SKG) and approximately around 45 nautical miles from its port. The settlement of Stavronikita is an exemplary holiday settlement that in cooperation with the hotel complex "SANI" points out the area as one of the most attractive summer destinations in our country, an island of quality and aesthetics.
"Sani Marina Piazza" gives the concept of, luxury and having-a-good-time, a fuller meaning. Award-winning restaurants whose reputation has traveled all over the world, with international and Mediterranean cuisine, Greek taverns, bars and cafes, galleries and shops, summer cinemas, bookstores, all gathered in one place, and are promised to meet all the expectations, even the ones from the most demanding visitor. Simantro Beach Hotel is located in the area of Megali Kypsa and is an ideal choice for nature lovers, as it is located a few steps from the sea and surrounded by pine trees. The uniqueness of the hotel is that the architecture imitates the style of the monasteries of Agio Oros. The unit is characterized by Byzantine elements and details of wood and stone which give it its unique character. Also worth-visiting is the wetland of the area, which is a refuge for many bird species as well as the prehistoric settlement on a hill by the lakes (Ampares), in the area of Gerani.
